byler confession benverly style where mike confesses to will but will thinks it’s a vecna vision because of how much vecna has been taunting him… basically this but much more dramatic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
beverly 'confesses' her love to ben before this but it turns out it was just pennywise messing with ben, making him see things, so he doesn't know what to believe anymore. this time it's real.
this wouldn’t be too far-fetched considering byler has been paralleled to benverly before, and the duffers have said It & stephen king are a big inspiration for stranger things. in It, ben writes beverly a poem confessing his love but it doesn’t have his name on it so bev thinks it is from bill. she grows feelings towards bill because she thinks he wrote the poem but falls in love with ben after realizing he wrote it originally. much like how will makes the painting for mike but passes it off as el’s so mike thinks it’s from her and confesses his love in the following ep. now all we need is for him to realize it's from will.

Diversity win! Characters losing their minds upon seeing its true form still respect its pronouns when faced by their pathetic human understandings of its cosmic gender!
We all float down here. You'll float too. You'll float too!
I won't, I sink in any water, I have no bodily buoyancy whatsoever like my father before me who sank on his own tropical honeymoon and had to be hauled to the surface by my mother.
Unrelated I just read Stephen King's "Carrie" and might try "It" next.

Grace and Carrie, just some good ‘ol god-fearing gals being pals
Tumblr media
(My instagram and some other socials is @ cat_napsss but I forgot to save a copy with my tumblr @)
So I changed the original quote to “save our souls” instead of “spare my soul” because I get the vibe Grace and Carrie wouldn’t view it as being “spared” by the darkness but rather “saved” by it, both being given their power back over the other kinds of darkness in their lives
(And yes it’s gay they’re both sexually repressed good little christian girls what did you expect?)
Tumblr media
The headcanon in my mind is that Grace met Carrie at their church and slowly starts to catch on to the abuse that’s happening to her over time. The rest— *cough* timeline *cough* —is in the air
(I have no idea how the quality is gonna look but hopefully it doesn’t get too crunchy 😭)
edit: cannot believe I’m only just now realizing that the pentagram is on the wrong side 🤦‍♀️ ah beans.

By FAR my favorite line in Salem's Lot 2024 is when Ben is arguing in the church trying to save Susan but Dr. Cody pulls out the stake and Ben goes, "No, are you fucking kidding me?" The way he's just so taken out of it and is truly like, WTF?? This is my second time watching it and both times I CACKLED SO HARD

So I was watching reels and got into DC side of Instagram and...
Hal Jordan fucking dated a 13 year old girl
/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿💥💀
This girl had a celebrity crush so strong that her ring aged her.
And despise he literally calling her "little sister" the moment she physically aged he was onto her and they were making out.
And everyone including the writers knew that this was fucked up cause Hal Jordan literally said "I need to convince them I'm not a child molestor" and he literally was 💀.
Tumblr media
Why is DC so fucking fucked up about young girls?
Stephanie Brown was literally a teenager mom and when she was killed and tortured by black mask it was like he was also going to rape her.
Helena Bertinelli was a kid when she was raped.
And a big etc.
What the fuck is wrong with DC writers?!

I know this is referring to the set being destroyed, but I won't be shedding any tears during S5 if Vecna burns Hawkins High School to the ground. I even predict the Duffer Brothers will pay homage to that scene from Stephen King's Carrie when Carrie burns everything on her Prom Night.
Same goes for if Vecna targets Angela and all those disgusting people at Rink-O-Mania and Lenora High School who viciously bullied El (I doubt Angela and her ilk will be back for S5, but if they do return for some reason and Vecna goes after them, I'm not going to feel a lot of sympathy on their behalf 😒).

I finally saw the new version of Salem’s Lot (available on Max). Overall, I liked it. Even tho it departs the most from the original book, it may be the best of the three adaptations.
The cast was good. I particularly liked Louis Pullman as Ben Mears. David Soul in the 1979 TV original had too much of an action hero vibe (when cast, he had just come off a 4 year stint on Starsky and Hutch). Rob Lowe in the 2004 remake was too much of a pretty boy. Louis Pullman came across as an Everyman who fell into a nightmare.
Tumblr media
I also liked school teacher Matthew Burke, played by Bill Camp. His death came as a bit of a shock but of course he decided to go to the haunted house alone, just before sunset!
I thought Jordan Preston Carter as junior vampire hunter Mark Petrie was terrific. He had a kid vibe but probably somewhere on the autism spectrum. I loved that he was so determined to keep his promise to Danny Glick.
In the original novel, the vampire Barlow is initially described as charming, distinguished but unsettling. In other words a modern day Dracula. I was glad the 2024 version followed the lead of the 1979 version, making Barlow a creepy Nosferatu style vampire. Although 1979’s Reggie Nalter is more memorable that Alexander Ward’s 2024 version. Was Ward’s appearance enhanced with CGI?
Tumblr media
Speaking of vampires, the vampire transformation were done well. I particularly liked Majorie Glick in the hospital morgue. First one shoe falls off, then an arm drops down, and she sits up eerily. And we don’t see what she looks like - we just see the sheet pulled tight against her face and fangs.
Tumblr media
Although the glowing crosses were a bit over the top, the effect looked cool and I liked how violently the vampires were thrown back when confronted with one.
One of the biggest changes from the novel was the climax at the drive-in movie theater. With all the townspeople sleeping during the day in the trunks of their cars, it was a good way to get them all together in one place. In the novel Mike and Mark had to go house to house to flush them out… then later burn Salem’s Lot down to make sure they got all of them.
Despite my praise, I can see why the movie was delayed and not released in theaters. With no “name” stars it seemed to fit better in a TV format. This version definitely felt like it would have been rated PG13. Frankly the 2024 Salems Lot needed more blood… lots more blood.

The way Stephen King just casually dropped this bit of Beatles rpf into 11/22/63:
"The Beatles reunited and played a Peace Concert. A suicide bomber in the crowd detonated his vest and killed three hundred spectators. Paul McCartney was blinded." - STEPHEN KING, 11/22/63
Tumblr media
(if you don’t know, 11/22/63 is about time travel + the Kennedy assassination so I guess this is saying no JFK assassination = no John Lennon murder, but Paul's blind now??)

As someone who has never gotten into FNAF, the movie felt like a long-lost Stephen King story. Especially since we have:
1) Weird child with psychic abilities (at least implied)
2) Protagonist is a sweaty wreck. The only thing he’s missing is being a former alcoholic/author with writer’s block.
3) Fun things meant for children, turned evil.
4) Hammy overacting actor who is chewing the scenery (Matthew Lillard)
5) Weird townspeople
6) Childhood trauma. Along the same lines, abusive parents.
7) Children getting killed
8) Bullies (the aunt and her gang)
9) Slow ass pacing
FNAF, more like It Chapter 3.
